The Monday Map: BBC’s The Beauty of Maps

We came across this article on The Atlantic about a BBC program broadcasted in April 2010 about the art in cartography. The first episode of the program is available on Youtube and you can see the first part on this page. We highly recommend you go on The Atlantic to see the rest and read what the author has to say about it. The first episode is focusing on beautiful old maps from medieval times.

You should also check the page of the program on the BBC website. It features high-quality historical maps with description and facts about them. There’s also 5 modern digital maps which I find a bit less interesting as they are tons of really fantastic digital maps and infographics these days. But the old ones are definitely worth a visit.
